You can also apply for a new or replacement copyright in person at a customer service center. You'll need your valid driving licence and a copyright-style photo and any other supporting documents. You must surrender any out of state driving licenses, permits or ID cards prior to applying for the new New York driver's license.

If you already have an auto licence in the category B and you are a Category B driver, you could be able to receive C and C1+E added to your licence when you pass the driving test for cars in those categories. You may also be able to add C1+E and C2+E to your license if you pass the driving test for a full-size bus (category C), or a full-size lorry (category C1E).

Requirements

This includes obtaining an active beginner's permit, passing an examination of knowledge written by a professional and passing a road skills test. You should also submit a proof of identity, residence and citizenship, or legal status in the US. You must also surrender your out-of-state driver's license or permit or copyright.

The Class C licence allows you to drive a private vehicle with up to 9 seats, a cargo vehicle and tractor units with the maximum GVWR of 3.5 tonnes.
